In front of the forthcoming spring season, Tampa International Airport (TPA) announced on Thursday, February 15, that Spirit Airlines will be launching four new routes. The purpose of these new routes is to help with the anticipated increase in passenger traffic in March and April. These flights, which are offered out of Nashville International Airport (BNA) in Tennessee, Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport (MKE) in Wisconsin, Kansas City International Airport (MCI) in Missouri, and Memphis International Airport (MEM) in Tennessee, will enhance connections for visitors.
These more routes are being added in anticipation of the expected rise in travel during spring break. The airport at Tampa is preparing for what seems to be a record-breaking spring break travel season, with over 100,000 passengers anticipated to transit through the facility over several days.
The Vice President of Network Planning at Spirit Airlines emphasised the importance of these new routes, saying,
"Tampa is a popular spring break destination because of its diverse cultural offerings and plenty of attractions. With the launch of Spirit's new seasonal nonstop flights, visitors from Kansas City, Memphis, Milwaukee, and Nashville will have easier access to Florida's Gulf Coast. Additionally, these new routes provide our Tampa-based tourists with an inexpensive and practical way to see four fascinating new locations this spring."
From March 7 to April 9, flights will be available on the Kansas City to Tampa route, with three weekly schedules on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. The following are the flight details:
1. At 10:45 local time, NK-3789 leaves Kansas City and arrives in Tampa at 14:20 local time.
2. Arrival: Kansas City at 09:45 local time; departure: NK-3788 from Tampa at 08:00 local time.
From March 7 to April 9, the new service from Memphis will also operate three times a week on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. The following is the flight schedule:
1. NK-3791 departs Memphis at 17:15 and arrives in Tampa at 20:05.
2. NK-3790 departs Tampa at 15:20 and arrives in Memphis at 16:15.
The third route, which will run from March 6 through April 8, links Milwaukee and Tampa. Flights are scheduled four times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. The following are the flight times:
1. NK-3785 leaves Milwaukee at 18:15 and arrives in Tampa at 21:55.
2. NK-3784 leaves Tampa at 15:30 and arrives in Milwaukee at 17:20.
The last new service connects Nashville with Tampa and operates four times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays between March 8 and April 8. The timetable for the flights is:
1. At 11:55 NK-3787 leaves Nashville and arrives in Tampa at 14:40.
2. At 10:15 NK-3786 leaves Tampa and arrives in Nashville at 11:05.
Spirit's Airbus A320 aircraft, outfitted with regular two-class seating (premium and standard classes), will be used to operate all of these new services. The first eight seats are the only ones in the VIP area; the other 174 seats are standard.
It's important to remember that Spirit Airlines recently had to cancel the opening of two new flights to Tulum because of continuous problems with aircraft availability brought on by inspections of Pratt & Whitney engines.
